Backstage with the Kings of Leon
Six BTEC Music Performance & Technology students recently earned themselves privileged backstage passes for the to Kings of Leon concert in Hyde Park, London.
Students Carl Osborne, Kelly Slade, Graham Spragg, Scott Rockingham, Jade Smith and Sarah Jenkins were the lucky students selected after an interview process initiated by college lecturers to decide fairly who would get the sought after passes. The day was organised by the National Skills Academy Creative and Cultural, of which the College is a founder member.

New York New York!
In 09-10 Musical and Technical Theatre students went to New York to take in some shows, Radio Production students worked at Deutsche Welle in Germany, Photography students exhibited in the largest graduate art show in Europe at the Truman Brewery in East London and television production students had tutorials from industry professionals such as Michael Grade and the producer of BBC1’s Silent Witness.

Michael Grade CBE visited the college to take part in a documentary style TVprogramme organised and presented by TV Production students.

Students visit publishing empire
Media students had a guided tour of IPC Media’s Blue Fin headquarters in London. IPC Media publishes some of the most popular and widely read magazines in the UK. Students not only got to see how the operation works, but were given a presentation and given the opportunity to ask lots of questions.
Renault F1 Tour
Students were given a priviliged pit pass to Renault F1 team headquarters where they were able to see new cars take shape and learn about the skills involved in race car construction.
