Introduction This course is designed for individuals who would like to develop skills for prospective careers in television production. The course is primarily practical in nature, but is underpinned by theoretical elements that relate to video and television production. You will develop the skills required to work within the industry via hands-on experience and tutoring. As part of a production team, you are encouraged to develop various programmes from concept to screen. Programmes are produced within a professional context using our excellent facilities, a multi camera TV studio with professionally equipped gallery and post-production facilities. You develop an understanding of the conceptual framework by which professional television programmes are produced, and are encouraged to incorporate work into the context of 21st century cultural and political issues. Specialist facilities and resources: • The course is taught in the College’s fully equipped four camera television studio • This is linked to our high quality production gallery • Extensive editing facilities, primarily using Apple Final Cut Studio which is taught by extensively qualified Apple certified trainers • Avid editing suites and PCs running Adobe Premiere Pro • Tutoring by an extensively experienced professional director Module titles: 1. Live Studio Practice 2. Post production Skills for Television 3. Theory into Practice 4. Practical Media Production & Application 5. Employment and Employability 6. Television Production Skills 7. Producing drama and comedy for television 8. Final major project Further Opportunities: This course will enhance employment prospects, and will develop an understanding of the roles of the many professionals involved in television production. For further study, you could choose to progress onto a further year of study to complete a BA (Hons) degree.

| Entry Requirements: |
AS/A2 Level passes in related subjects, or Edexcel National Diploma or Certificate in a related subject, or Access to Higher Education Certificate in a related subject, or other equivalent qualifications e.g. A Levels. Mature students and / or students with non-standard qualifications will be considered, especially those with relevant experience of industry. |
