Applying for Foundation & Honours Degrees


All full-time Foundation Degrees are taken in 2 years.

Course entry requirements

The standard entry requirements for Foundation Degree courses are as follows, unless stated otherwise for a specific course:

An Edexcel National Diploma in a related subject or Access to Higher Education Diploma in a related subject or other equivalent qualifications. Consideration will also be given to a range of criteria including, for example, a portfolio of work, candidate attitude and performance at interview.

We welcome applications from mature students who have relevant experience and other students with either non-standard qualifications or who may not meet the formal entry criteria.

Progress to a BA(Hons) option, where available, is for one additional year of full-time study. You can also apply for a BA(Hons) one year course if you have completed an appropriate HND, Foundation Degree or equivalent at another institution.

You must be 18 years of age or over on 1 September 2010 for a course starting in autumn 2010.

How to Apply

All applicants should apply for these courses through the University and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) in accordance with their procedures and timetables. Applicants should apply by 15 January 2010. Later applications will be considered, but it is important for you to check the deadline for your chosen course(s).

In the UCAS Directory, you will find Amersham & Wycombe College courses under the Buckinghamshire New University entry (B94). The University's institution code name is BUCKC.

Student Finance

What will we charge?

Higher Education fees for 2010-11.

Higher education fees for students on year 2 of an HE course are £1625

Higher education fees for students starting a new HE course are £1950

Part time foundation degree fees are £1025

Other part time higher education tuition fees will vary depending on the nature and duration of the course. Please contact the Enquiries and Admissions team on 0800 614016

Overseas HE course fees are: £6500

Overseas part time foundation degree courses fees are £3250
