Art & Design
Art & Design is founded on a long tradition through the former Amersham College of Art & Design. We offer a wide range of accredited courses to suit all abilities and ages. Facilities include fully equipped specialist workshops and studios, including fine art printmaking, textile printing, metalwork, woodwork, sculpture and ceramics, photographic studios and expansive computer suites. Staff are professionally qualified in their respective disciplines and many continue practice through freelance commissions, exhibitions and publications. Lecturing staff are supported by equally qualified technicians.
In Ofsted's inspection in 2007, the area of visual arts was commended as outstanding (grade 1). Following a rigorous application process in 2009, the College has been selected as one of the 20 founder colleges of the Creative and Cultural Skills Academy.
