Teacher Training
From September 2007, all new teachers in the Learning and Skills Sector (post 16 education) in England have been required to have qualifications which form part of the Qualified Teacher Learning & Skills (QTLS) framework. The College offers a range of programmes endorsed by SVUK, the subsidiary company of Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK). The pathway taken will depend on the role to be undertaken. The roles are defined as either ‘Full Teacher Role’ or ‘Associate Teacher Role’. Roles are not dependent on how many hours teaching is undertaken by individuals, but by the nature of their job role.
This course is for individuals who wish to teach in post compulsory education (ie: not schools). This qualification is generally accepted for teachers in post compulsory education and is validated by the University of Westminster.
