Access to Higher Education
Access courses are one year programmes specifically designed for adults who wish to return to study and progress to higher education. There are no formal entry requirements although you must be 19 or over and have the ability to benefit from higher education, without having had the opportunity to do so. Completion of a validated Access course will guarantee you a place on one of our higher education courses. Access courses are designed to prepare adults for admission to a degree or equivalent level course. The course is credit based and consists of core and specialist pathways. The core units focus on essential study skills including Communication, Numeracy and Information Technology. The course also includes a specialist pathway reflecting your own interests and career aspirations.
